Major Miguel Zapata is an instructor for the Joint All Domain Strategist concentration at Air Command and Staff College (JADS), Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. As a JADS Instructor, Major Zapata develops and delivers curriculum focused on preparing over 60 hand-selected military professionals, including sister service, for the complexities of integrated and multi-domain operations. He also leads a first of-its-kind elective building a modern wargame engine to teach students at the operational level of war.

Major Zapata received his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 2011 with a degree in Foreign Area Studies. He has held key leadership roles, including Task Force J3 Director, Combat Mission Team Lead, and Flight Commander. Prior to his current assignment, Major Zapata served as the Operations Director for a Joint Task Force under the United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM), Cyber National Mission Force (CNMF), where he played a pivotal role in orchestrating high-priority cyberspace effects campaigns and “Hunt Forward” operations. Leveraging his unique whole-of-government experience in cyber effects operations, he successfully integrated efforts across interagency partners to achieve strategic objectives and safeguard national security.
