Technical AI: Computational Thinking, Coding, Data Analysis

Major Mark Bateman entered the Air Force in 2012 as a developmental engineer having graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Systems Engineering in the Department of Systems Engineering and Management at the Air Force Institute of Technology. His career in the Air Force includes assignments in Test & Evaluation, with the 586th Flight Test Squadron and the 746th Test Squadron, and the Air Force Research Lab, with the Directed Energy Directorate, before transferring to the Space Force in 2021. Major Bateman has Master’s degrees in Systems Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology and Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His current research interests include applications for Generative AI/Large Language Models in systems engineering applications and exploring the disruptive nature of these models in educational environments.
