Dr. Yolanda Levell-Williams, D.M.

Vision for AI in Education at Air University
Dr. Yolanda Levell-Williams is the Chief Academic Officer and Provost of Air University, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. In this role, she provides strategic oversight for academic governance, institutional accreditation, curriculum development, and workforce innovation across all AU schools and centers. As Deputy Provost since 2018, she has led major institutional initiatives in academic policy, accreditation compliance (SACSCOC), diversity and inclusion, and strategic academic operations.
Dr. Williams brings over two decades of executive leadership in higher education, with a career that spans community colleges, workforce education, and federal academic institutions. Prior to joining Air University, she served as Vice President of Workforce Education for Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and Dean of Career and Technical Education at the College of the Florida Keys. She was also Executive Director of Technical Workforce Education at Hillsborough State College for over a decade.
Dr. Williams is a recognized expert in organizational behavior, leadership development, and workforce strategy. She teaches and lectures on management, international business, and strategic decision-making, with faculty engagements at Pasco Hernando State College, the University of Hartford, and the University of South Florida.
She is the author and co-author of multiple articles and policies, including Air University Instruction 36-2602 and contributions to Smart Business and Focus Magazine. She has delivered presentations at national academic and defense forums on topics ranging from accreditation and leadership to diversity and change management.
Dr. Williams holds a Doctor of Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus, a Master’s in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, and a Bachelor’s in Business Management and Accounting from the University of Maryland. She also holds professional certifications in post-crisis leadership and diversity, equity, and inclusion from the University of South Florida.
She currently serves on national councils including the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the American Association of Colleges and Universities.
