Dr. Mehmed Ali
Space Force

Dr. Mehmed Ali is the Provost and Chief Learning Officer for Space Force Delta XIII at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. He is responsible for providing oversight for all academic programs for the US Space Force including curriculum, faculty affairs, institutional effectiveness, accreditation, and scholarship and research. Dr. Ali has nearly three decades of federal service and has extensive experience in academic leadership, project management, and public history.
Following seven years overseeing a partnership with the University of Massachusetts and the National Park Service, he served with the State Department in Iraq for four years where he oversaw the direct management of several funding programs, totaling over $200 million, which targeted the rebuilding of the nation’s civic, educational, and cultural infrastructure. Subsequently he was posted to a Provincial Reconstruction Team in eastern Afghanistan for USAID working on major development projects.
Prior to joining Delta XIII, he supervised several work groups for Air University including Air University Library, the Teaching and Learning Center, the Registrar’s Office, Air University Press, the Office of Sponsored Programs and the AU Innovation Accelerator (AUiX). Dr. Ali also served for six years in the enlisted ranks of the United States Marine Corps with the 1st Combat Engineer Battalion and Marine Barracks Hawaiʻi.
