Lt Col Castaneda is the Deputy Director of the Innovation Division at Global College of Professional Military Education (GCPME), Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. She leads a team responsible for evaluating a new innovative officer professional military education concept. GCPME is responsible for delivering distance education PME for Airmen and Guardians globally. GCPME operates seven programs serving approximately 35K enrolled students annually, including active duty, guard, reserve, sister service, and Department of the Air Force civilians.

Lt Col Castaneda was commissioned in 2009 from the US Air Force Academy. She also earned a MS in Industrial Engineering from New Mexico State University in 2011. Lt Col Castaneda is a 14-year career Operations Analysis Officer with assignments supporting units across Air Force Space Command, Air Combat Command, and Air Force Reserve Command. She has also supported contingency operations in Pacific Command, Southern Command, and Central Command through analysis on air operations center operations assessment teams and lessons learned. Prior to her current position, Lt Col Castaneda was an Air University IDE Fellow at Maxwell AFB, Alabama.
